The Internet... Its not as useful as you think

Emily Jessica - November 2008

Emily drawn in the sand at Robin Hoods BayHi and welcome to my new page.  The old version of what was supposed to be a regular update for my friends and family can be seen here, but I guess to start afresh means to ditch that attempt all together.

The picture you are seeing to your left was created by my Daddy's limited artistic talent on the beach during my first family holiday at Robin Hoods Bay earlier this year.  It was a great holiday spent with my Mummy, Daddy, Grandma "choc choc", Auntie Emma and Uncle Nick (who taught me Hi-Five and "cheers"!)  Daddy promises that he will sort out a photo gallery of the holiday soon, but for now hes got to get my page sorted (priorities after all!)

I'm not too sure how this page is going to go, there was some thought about it being done as a blog - but there's already a blog section here and I like to be different.  Like all things on Daddy's website its all subject to change but for now I will just write bits and pieces about what I've been up too since the last update and where I am in life.

Today's update was written on 30th November 2008 - which means there are only a few days left now till Christmas!  Mummy and Daddy put the Christmas decorations up (ha! who am I kidding, Mummy put them up, Daddy just got stuff out of the attic and got all grumpy - he was a grump all day)  The tree is nice and shiny, though Mummy says its hot and I mustn't touch it.  We have a blue and white snowflake in the window for all to see, and tinsel and other lights all over the house.  I can't wait till Christmas - not because I want more toys but because Grandma "choc choc" is coming, and I think Auntie Emma and Uncle Nick are coming too (must remind Daddy to ring them and find out).  On Boxing Day my Great Grandma and Granddad are coming to visit, and Nanna and Granddad are coming for New Year with Uncle Mark and Great Nanna.  Hopefully we will venture out of the house on one of the days to visit Granddad and Uncle Tom - though they may visit here its too far away in Granddad and Daddy's minds to make any plans of that nature yet (hope I don't inherit Daddy's planning skills!)

Tomorrow is Nursery Day - I go on Mondays and Fridays whilst Mummy is at work.  Its great fun having a break from my parents and playing with other children and the staff do a great job of looking after me.  Sadly though some people want to close my Nursery down in a few years, it won't affect me as I'll have grown up and gone to school by then but it will affect any sibling (big word for a small person) I may have - they should be able to have the great start I've had too.  Be sure to visit the website all about saving my nursery by going here, and visit it often too as there should be all sorts of updates on how you my friends and family can help save it.  www.saveournursery.co.uk

I'm actually in bed right now - Daddy is typing this up after the briefing I gave him just before story time.  My big friend Amran bought me a whole set of Roald Dahl books out of the blue so Daddy has been reading them to me.  I don't know who is enjoying them more at the moment - me or Daddy (though I do wish he would be a bit more consistent with his voices - hey you did ask for constructive criticism!).  We're currently doing "Georges Marvellous Medicine", the first book we read was the "Giraffe the Pelly and Me" which apparently is Daddy's favourite Roald Dahl Book.  I'll let you know which one is next when we decide!

So, until next time, huge cuddles and kisses.  Em x
